Writing great content is not just about getting the grammar right. By writing high-quality content, search engines will automatically give you a higher position thus making it more likely that your readers find you. Great content = successful Online Marketing. Here are some tips to create just that…
1. Catchy Titles
Upon the first look, the viewers eyes wanders wander over the page and automatically finds the most interesting looking words and pictures. A compelling title will make the viewer want to read on, and you will also want them to really engage with the content. You can find Roger C. Parker’s 10-point checklist for writing successful titles here. Make sure to break up your blog post or text into sections with sub-headings. A really long piece of text will bore the reader. It’s good to add pictures or videos that compliment your content as well.
2. SEO Is Your Friend
In this day and age, Search Engine Optimisation is absolutely essential for your blog to be found. You would be mad not to use the most relevant keywords for your post. Make sure to also use them in the content a few times so that the link remains strong. Your heading and intro are the most important for using them since Google sees theses more important pieces of text. Meta descriptions are the short sentences you see under a link heading in Google. Make sure you tell the reader what he will find when clicking on the link, and use at least one of your strong keywords. If your meta tag or SEO title is too long it will not show completely.
3. Think About Both Quantity and Quality
Google is getting more refined when it comes to looking up helpful, high-quality content
without ads. Ways of charming Google are:
- Cross-linking: Referencing, and therefore linking to a site with similar content as the original website.
- Inbound linking: Links found on other sites that link directly to your website (most important for Google ranking)
- Keyword Saturation/Density: The percentage of times that a keyword or phrase appears on the web page compared to the total number of words on the page
4. Conversion = Success
Most content is there to sell either a product or service, wether it is written in an educational or commercial way. By using a call-to-action you can actually expect to receive a response from your readers, thus make your sale. Leaving out a way for your readers to engage with you is like building a car without a motor. Invite them to engage with you through commenting, sharing and checking out your website by using direct language. Read here, Contact Me are simple calls-to-action. Make sure they stand out.
