Everyone knows you have to keep learning to stay sharp in this business, but where do you find the resources to do this? to help you out we’ve listed our top resources to follow and stay up to date regarding all things online marketing related. Be it from content optimization to the latest twitter marketing developments. This list should keep you on the ball.
One of the best resources around the web when trying to keep up to date on what’s new in “marketing land” ( pun intended ). This blog has daily posts by their in-house editors but also features guest posts from authorities in related fields. It has been a premier source for scoops and new developments in the fields of content, email and social media marketing. Also known for their famous infographics.
Marketing land’s bigger brother, fully focused on SEO and SEA. Whenever Google changes their algorithms they always are the first to report. So for the ones also doing SEO/SEA this should be a mandatory RSS feed. Next to their regular updates on the latests things about google they give easy to follow ‘how-to guides’ on updating your website to comply with the latest SEO changes. When reading through this blog be sure to have a look at their recap articles, since this blog has been around for ages they offer interesting insights in how the market has developed and where it seems to be going.
Originally by a landing page building product this blog gives daily updates on new revelations in consumer behaviour, easy checklists on how to make your site more efficient and handy templates for creating landing pages. They also refer to other marketing blogs a lot which is in fact how I discovered some of these. One of the most interesting things about this blog is how they try to create how-to guides that take a marketeer from landing pages to follow-up email marketing and walkthrough through all the tiny steps that might influence the (re)buying decision for a consumer.
Hubspot blog is known for their infographics and short e-books helping e-marketeers get up close and personal with unfamiliar topics when starting out, such as conversion rate optimization and the ins and outs of content marketing. The easy to read blog is divided into 5 main categories, mostly split up per department. All the content is written in easy to understand terms to keep it understandable for the beginner but nevertheless useful for experienced marketers as well. A definite recommendation if you feel like dabbling into a new marketing field for yourself.
A blog aimed at social media marketers but features content marketing regularly as well. One of the smaller blogs in this list but it has seen a big rise recently by posting about recent fads. This is the blog to go to if you are thinking about starting a guerilla marketing campaign or need to brush up on the latest facebook ad trends.
Buffer, like social fresh is aimed at a combination of content and social media marketing marketeers. The company, originally offering a social sharing solution, has a lot of data analysis done on what makes a post or picture go viral and is posting a lot of detailed breakdown posts. Next to that they also feature a lot of marketing tool reviews, with a focus on content creation tools. In my eyes a must read for the content marketers out there.
