Let’s face it, we have all done it. Eating and drinking too much, because you think you can have your ‘skips and cheats’ during the weekend. Whether you had a birthday-party, weekend-trip or any special occasion. These tips will help you start your Monday-morning fresher.
Breakfast is your best friend.
Do not skip the most important meal of the day. It is temping to skip meals after all of your cheats, but that would be the worst thing you would do. Try incorporating proteins and fibre in your breakfast. This will give you the energy you need throughout the day. You could try Greek yoghurt with apples, bananas, mangos or pears and granola or cereals.
It is important to drink plenty of water. The first thing you should do in the morning is to drink one large glass of water. Drinking water should be the number one at your list. You can put fruit or cucumbers in your water to motivate yourself from drinking more water and it tastes fresher also.
Fibre is the remedy
After a weekend of bad eating and many cheats, it is recommend putting more fibre into your meals as much as possible. Brown rice, vegetables, fruits, flax seeds, sweet potatoes and quinoa are great to get your digestion back on track and helps you keep you full in between meals.
I hope these small and easy tips helped, but most importantly don’t beat yourself up after a weekend full of guilty pleasures. We all have our cravings, but try to keep motivated. If you take after your body, it will reward you.
Invest in yourself and good luck!
