What the CC´s blog is about
This blog will guide you through the world of complaints. Firstly, it will do its best to make you aware of complainers, then it will dig deeper into social and religious aspects that might have caused chronic complaining and will by the end show you how to laugh more and complain less.
Did you know?
It has been brought to my attention that specific nationalities, e.g. Hungarian, like to complain a lot, and that after a time people have even incorporated complaining into their culture. I am lucky enough to say that I have travelled to a lot of places in the world, and had the chance to get to know several cultures. Though I must conclude: Everybody Complains. Studies show that the average person cannot go three days without complaining. In this case “feeling cold” or “being tired” count as complaints. Could you do it, could you go three days without even one complaint? Test yourself!
If you failed the experiment it does not immediately mean that you are a chronic complainer, but you might have come to realize that it is true: Everybody Complains.
How to spot a chronic complainer
There is a great chance that you are surrounded by at least one chronic complainer, or you might even be one. Surely, everyone has already met negative people, but what is the difference between a pessimist and a chronic complainer?
An optimist would see the glass half full, while a pessimist would see it half empty, and a chronic complainer would say: “The water is not cold enough, it is probably tap water, I need a bigger glass, but the service is so bad here, oh no, is that lipstick on the rim? I will definitely get really bad herpes from an overpriced glass of water. What did I do to deserve this?” This kind of daily whining is what characterizes a chronic complainer. They want to be heard and if you would suggest a solution to any of their problems it would only make things worse. A solution leads to more problems and complicates matters. Chronic complainers do not see themselves as negative people and this is one of the reasons why I recommend the above-mentioned test. Try testing your colleagues, or friends, and see how fast they fail. Fortunately you might find yourself surrounded by only positive people. As I have indicated before if you complain it does not mean that you are a chronic complainer.
If you are willing to change yourself and/or your environment to live a more positive life, start with consciousness. Being aware of a problem is the first step towards change. And as Gandhi put it: “Be the change you want to see in the world.” Obviously, there is worse than being a chronic complainer or having to listen to one all day long, but it has a great influence on your whole environment. Thankfully it can be defeated, so why not act upon it. There are many beautiful reasons for you to be happy and life is too short for permanent discontent.
Why you will read my future blog entries
Hopefully after you have read the previous paragraphs you will by now be aware of the issue. I promise, that in the upcoming days you are going to notice people complaining a lot and you will be more conscious about yourself complaining. No, I am not trying to manipulate you … or am I? Either way, it is for a good cause. The more aware you are of the problem the more annoyed you will get by people whining. This complaint overload will lead you to ask yourself many questions, for example how can I stop them from complaining? Where does their urge to complain come from? The answer to these questions will be discussed in the following entries. You can get an insight on religious, social, millennial impacts of chronic complaints and tips on spreading positive energy. For inducing some laughter and realizing how spoiled we are you will be able to read about first world problems as well. All the knowledge you gain should help you create a valid opinion on the issue and enjoy the perks life offers you.
Word of truth
Most people do not know they complain too much, but need to open their eyes on the matter.
I noticed that more and more people in my life were complaining for ridiculous reasons and I could not bear hearing their whining anymore. Everyone has the right to complain and sometimes it is only a way to relief stress. Nonetheless there is a limit and some live a problem-free life but still complain constantly.
Never be fully satisfied with your life otherwise there will not be anything that drives you to your new goal. I believe you must dream big but be happy on the way of achieving that dream and do not ruin it by being overly dissatisfied. Put some pink glasses on sometimes for your own sake, and keep on smiling!
