Hello there traveller 😀
We all know that when we travel far, there are not always direct flights available
and that means we need to transfer at another airport. Waiting for hours at the airport
can be very exhausting and dreadful.
Of course there are also some airports that are very entertaining and amusing to stay at.
Allow me to introduce you to some best transferring airports that make your transfer a lot more pleasurable!
Munich, Germany – Discover beer and more…
If you love beer, this airport is your airport-to-be when waiting for your transfer! Munich Airport offers you a variety of restaurants, a beer garden, a pub and they even have their own beer brewery! In addition to the brewery, Munich Airport even offers you a tour by a real brewmaster through their own brewery including, of course, beer tasting 😎
Moreover, from October until May there is live music and live entertainment offered in their restaurants. I guess the beer fans have to set their alarm in order not to miss their flight, since they will absolutely love this place. Cheers!
Hong Kong, China – Education, movies and golf
Shopping and dining is all pretty common at most airports, but at Hong Kong International Airport they offer you something very, very special. Located in Terminal 2, you will find the Aviation Discovery Centre + Sky Deck, the GreenLive Air zone where you can play indoor golf, the Dream Come True Education Park for children, and last but not least, the IMAX Theatre where you can watch 2D and 3D movies!
The IMAX Theatre features a giant screen (13.8 meters high and 22.4 meters wide) and it has over 350 seats! Most movies shown, are Hollywood blockbusters/edutainment films and the price is similar to any other IMAX movies in regular cinema’s. I don’t think I would mind waiting here for a few hours!
San Fransisco, USA – Exhibitions, spa treatments and some yoga
If we know one thing about Americans, it is that they always go all out when they want to entertain people. At San Fransisco International airport each family member can find something that will fulfil his or her wishes. This can either be going to the spa, visiting one of the many exhibitions, find some inner peace in the Berman Reflection room, get educated at the aviation museum & library and children can entertain themselves in one of the three Kid’s Spots.
And if that was not enough for you, the airport even offers their passengers (with a layover of 4 hours or more) trips to San Fransisco! In your time off you can visit for example Chinatown & North Beach, the Mission District or San Mateo’s shopping centre. Transferring doesn’t seem that bad all of a sudden right?
