I’m back again and with only 18 days till Christmas, I thought it was about time to write about house decorating. Christmas decoration to me is all about fairy lights, candles and little decorations all throughout the house. This is of course apart from the most important decoration item, the Christmas tree. So no more wasted writing, let’s get straight into this.
I find candles one of the most diverse and easiest decoration pieces. They make everything look cosier and more Christmassy during the dark December month. There are loads of candles out there which makes it accessible for all different tastes and preferences. The easy option is to go for the standard red and green Christmas colors, and if you want it to add a little bit extra you can go for a scented candle. Yankee Candle is an American brand which is known for their amazing scented candles. The best thing about Yankee Candle is that they even have a whole section on their website dedicated to Christmas at the moment! This is a dream for someone who is a Christmas maniac like myself. Yankee Candle offers a variation of Christmas scents like “Christmas Garland”, “Candy Cane Lane”, “Christmas Memories”, and many more. Apart from single scented candles in different sizes, they also sell gift sets, advent calendars and other Christmas accessories. In short, you should really take a look on their web shop if you are looking for festive or just any type of scented candle. I’ll post a few of my favorite festive ones below to give you some inspiration and shopping motivation! Just like the last blog post, all the images are clickable and will redirect you to the associated web shop or source.
As you may know I also love a little DIY from time to time, and what’s better than DIY candles?! My personal favorite is to print out any kind of Christmassy template, stick it on a random jar where any candle can be placed in, paint the whole jar, and leave it to dry. Once the paint is dry you can remove the template. Because of the template on the jar, the paint won’t cover the shape of the template which gives a cool effect once the candle is lit. Apart from the cool effect it gives, it’s also really easy and doesn’t take a lot of time. Below I’ll show some template inspiration and a example of the final result.
To finalize this blog, I want to focus on all around house decorating inspiration. Like I said earlier, I really think that fairy lights are the key to making everything look cosy and Christmassy but also little DIY projects can play key roles. I’ve found a few DIY examples on Pinterest for you to get you motivated and inspired.
When decorating your house, you should think of Christmas wreaths, bows, snow globes, fake snow, all sorts of tinsels and a little Father Christmas statue shouldn’t be forgotten. The smell of Christmas is also very important, this can be achieved with clove oranges. I hope the images below will inspire you and help with decorating your house, and do not forget to play some Christmas music while decorating! Trust me, listening to Michael Bublé works wonders. Next up: Christmas music.
Warm Christmas Hugs,
