Hey, Hola, Hoi!
I’m back with another exciting tutorial for you guys!
This time I thought I would share with you something unusual and fun. This nail design is definitely going to make you stand out and – I promise you – people are going to ask: “Oh my God, what’s that on your nails?” I personally think that this design is so much fun because, while it looks very complex in reality, it’s super quick and easy to do!
To achieve newspaper nails you need:
1) Nude colored nail polish. Today I used a very affordable polish from Etos in the shade №20.
2) Today’s newspaper. The reason I suggest using a today’s newspaper is because the ink is still fresh, therefore it transfers on your nails better.
3) Cotton pads.
4) A pair of small scissors to cut the newspaper.
5) Alcohol. I usually use vodka and it works great.
Step 1: Paint your nails with the nude nail polish and let it dry. It is up to you how many layers you want depending on how opaque the base color you want to be. Keep in mind that it is going to be the background color for our newspaper print. For some reason my nail color turned out looking rather orange on the picture, but it is actually very neutral.
Step 2: Cut the newspaper into small little pieces that approximately match the size of your nails. My advice is to pick the part of the text with bold font. The thicker text looks more prominent on your nails.
Step 4: Remove the cotton pad and carefully take the newspaper piece off of your nail. The result is going to look like this:
Step 5: Don’t forget to put some shiny top coat on it. Your look is ready!
What can you pair this look with.
As apposed to last week, this design is definitely more day time appropriate. I would say this style is good for a jeans and t-shirt kind of day when you still want to add a creative element to your look!
This particular technique is so easy: it took me not more than 10 minutes to complete it. Now it’s your turn. Try it and let me know how long it takes you! Don’t forget to post your creations in the comment section down below 🙂
