Located in the center of Italy you find the always-beautiful Tuscany. This blog isn’t about Tuscany, but about Firenze – or as you say in English – Florence, the capital of Tuscany.
Florence is filled great architecture, wonderful shopping opportunities and delicious food. Walking around the city already gives you the feeling of walking around in a fairytale. In this blog we will take you around Florence in only 48 HOURS.
One of the first things you should pay a visit to is the Ponte Vecchio. It is a world famous bridge over the Arno River in the center of Florence, which attracts many tourists to get the most tourist-like photograph of the holiday. The bridge is different from other bridges because of the shops that are built alongside the bridge, mostly jewelry stores that add to the historic and fairytale feeling of the bridge.
There are many beautiful building in the city of Florence; one of them is the Santa Maria del Fiore. This building – cathedral to be exact – is an attribute to the Florence skyline. Build in the thirteenth through the fifteenth century, with many alterations throughout the following centuries the cathedral offers a great view over the city of Florence after walking a total of 463 steps – it is definitely worth the time!
Florence offers a wide range of shopping opportunities; from small boutiques to haute couture to your average chain stores. In the city center the type of shop are short of sorted together, high-end by high-end, boutiques close to boutiques and chain stores mixed in.
The city of Florence is the home and birthplace to some of the most luxurious brands, for example Gucci started in Florence in 1921.
Shopping in Florence will still everybody’s thirst for spending money!
