Christmas and food are my most favourite things ever and since eating with Christmas is something traditional it couldn’t be left out of this blog series. When thinking of Christmas dinner, meals like beef wellington, roasted Brussels sprouts, ham, and turkey are the classical ones. I’m also sure that there are tons of recipes for a perfect Christmas dinner available around this time of the year. I thought it was a nice idea to give you some inspiration on festive little bites, drinks, and edible gifts for the holiday season!
Christmas Gift Plate
My mom came with this incredible idea to make a plate with all home cooked things like cookies to give to the people we visit around Christmas time. I think this is so much more valuable (and yummy) instead of a standard bouquet of flowers. It shows that you’ve actually put effort in it and you can personalize it with all sorts of decoration. I’ll add in my mom her plates below, but the thing I like the most about this idea is that you can make it totally different and customize it to your own preference!
When thinking of dining with Christmas I immediately think of the standard appetizer dishes that everyone gets in front of them. Lately I’ve been enjoying charcuterie plates because these plates enable you to have a great variety of bites for anyone who will be joining your dinner table. To me, it also provides a relaxed atmosphere instead of giving everyone a selected pair of appetizers, and again you can go crazy on the decorating and cutting when you serve bites and snacks on big plates. As always I’ll put in some pictures of the coolest plates I’ve found to get you inspired for your own appetizer plates!
Like I’ve said before, there are already tons of recipes and magazines about creating the perfect menu for a Christmas dinner. That’s why I was wondering what ideas and inspiration I could give you to make your dinner more unique and personal. Lastly I thought a festive cocktail/welcome drink would be a nice idea! Welcome drinks are always a good way to kick off a dinner party and it helps with an intimate atmosphere. If you have any personal favourites you can always go with those and just put in a festive candy cane, but if you need some inspiration for new festive ones I’m here to help again like a little Christmas elf! Just click any of the pictures below and it will direct you to the recipe.
So this was it for this year’s counting down to Christmas. I hope you’ve enjoyed reading it as much as I’ve enjoyed writing it! Stay tuned for more counting down series and you can always leave your requests in the comment. Enjoy the Christmas season people!
