Hair braids are trending, people are beginning to experience how fun and cool they are. Celebrities such as Keri Hilson, Solange Knowels, Keke Palmer, Beyonce Carter, Janet Jackson and many more all love to do braids. This has allowed many black women to step up their game from putting on weaves and wigs to braids. Whether box braids, micro braids, Senegalese twists, Havana mambo twist or big cornrows, all these braiding’s styles are trending immensely.
In my previous blogs I talked about weaves, wigs and natural hair products for black women. But it can’t be complete without talking about braids. bbraids are great especially for spring and summer, they are breathable, it has versatile styles and easy to go. All you need to get is an Expression braiding hair extensions and an experienced hairdresser. Using expression hair extensions are good because the quality of the hair is great, the packs are thick, soft and takes well to the ends when dipped in hot water after being braided.
I personally enjoy hair braids; I braid my hair at least four times a year. Not only does it ensure hair growth but also, it saves me time and energy from constantly getting busy with my hair. Most of my inspirations are derived from the ”Braids gang” on Instagram and Twitter, they show versatile types and styles of braids.
I love box braids, even though it takes about three to four hours to get them done, it is worth the time. The first few days I do my braids are always painful but I get used to it as time goes on. The pain exists because the hair extensions are used as an attachment to your natural hair. They are usually braided tightly to ensure longevity.
Bob box braids
I sometimes like to do my box braids also in a form of a bob style. It doesn’t really have versatile hairstyles because of the length but it definitely serves perfectly for the hot weather.
Big cornrows, also known as ‘’thot braids’’ was a hype in 2015. Ciara, Jada Smith, Kate Perry and many more did these braids; I decided to join the hype by getting it done too. These braids are easy to do and take a short time to get it done. The only disadvantage is that you can’t keep them in longer than two weeks but I totally love it.
Tip: if you want to keep your braids in for more than 3 weeks, try washing them with shampoo and conditioner to get a fresh look. Also, try and moisturize your scalp at least 3-4 times a week to ensure a healthy scalp and hair. Avoid using heat on the hair since the hair extensions are synthetic.
Make sure you check out ‘’Braids gang’’ on Instagram and Twitter for more amazing styles and types of braids and join the gang as we all rock our braids!
Try and braid with your best friend to make it fun, for friends that braid together stay together!
