12 Munchies is a Pop-Up-Bakery that is on one hand well hidden from tourists, but on the other hand also well located in the 18th district of Vienna. Three German friends own it, so I guess that is what brings the Berlin-Hipster flair to that place. Running under the motto “We are small but we stand tall”, the bakery offers a nice living-room-atmosphere with vintage furniture.
They bake a lot of tasty things like scones, banana bread and cheesecake-wait for it-brownies 🙂 That will definitely make your day! They offer a daily changing selection of cakes with a focus on America and Great Britain. So that may sounds funny now – a German Pop-up-bakery with American and British cakes and tarts? Yes, yes and yes! A must try bakery I guess 🙂
I love it for its variety of creative cakes and delicious scones, which are daily changing. Plus: they also offer vegan cupcakes!
And if you rather want to enjoy that peace of heaven with a cup of coffee outside in the park, you can also have everything to go.
But they don’t just offer a great choice of sweet things; you also have to try the “Sandwich of the day”. I can definitely recommend the quiches there!
Furthermore they offer some special non-alcoholic drinks you will find everywhere in Berlin, but not in Vienna.
Unfortunately they have only place for a maximum of six people inside the café. In the summer time they also have some tables and seats in front of the café.
But if you plan on going there for a late-afternoon-coffee, hurry up! 12 Munchies is only open until 5 pm.
Leave all the Viennese traditional coffee places behind and try something new, something special, something hidden!
