Little Britain If you should cross the Engerthstreet in Vienna’s 2nd district you may be surprised to find the coffee place so called “Little Britain”. First of all, because Vienna unlike to other big cities is very traditional and you most likely won’t find too much cultural diversity when it comes to coffee places.
But if you pass “Little Britain”, make sure to take a break there. I discovered the place through Instagram and since then I’ve been there several times.
Café Little Britain
The owner of this café was a big England-Fan who wanted to bring some British ambience to Vienna. So this café looks more like a British living room equipped with white furniture, cozy sofas, a lot of mirrors and flowers everywhere.
As the name of this place already says, you will find a lot of British specialties there, from sandwiches to delicious scones. I mostly go for the poppyseed cake!
Unlike typical Viennese bakeries you will rather have a cup of tea than coffee next to your pastry. But if you still choose to go for some coffee, be prepared: as British people prefer some tea to coffee, coffee specialties in “Little Britain” are different to other coffee places. The creations contain vanilla, caramel or some liquor.
Little Britain also offers a lot of cold mixed drinks, whether with freshly brewed tea or coffee. The Oreo-Frappuccino at this place is an insider tip!
If you plan on going to café Little Britain on the weekend, I suggest you to make a reservation. Otherwise you may have to sit outside, and I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t want to miss the tea-room ambience in this café.
