Congratulations! You are getting married and the big day is coming up. Following tradition of a one year engagement I would like to give tips and guidelines what you should arrange and think about before your wedding. Last blog I gave tips and guidelines what to arrange and think about 12 months before the big day. Now I would like to continue and take a look at what to think about 10 months before your wedding day.
10 months before the big day
Bridal wear: Start searching for your dream dress, because they have a long delivery time. Start with orienting online what kind of dresses you prefer. For inspiration you can look at brides.com and at the tv-series Say Yes To The Dress. When you have an idea what your dreamdress might look like find some bridal shops in the area and book an appointment. I can advise 3 different appointments at 3 different bridal shops. If you find your dream dress you can cancel the other appointments. Remember: do not try on to many, cause then you might lose your way in the forest.
Documents: Ask at city hall what document you need for a legal marriage. Think for example of your ID’s (drivers licence or passport) and a copy of the IDs of your witnesses.
Divisions of roles: Choose your maid of honor, best man and ceremony master(s).
Script: Make (together with your ceremony master/wedding planner) a provisional script of your wedding. What time is the ceremony? And when will you cut the cake?
Photographer: Choose your professional wedding photographer and/or videographer. Before choosing one it is handy to have a vision of what you want the pictures/video to radiate. To get inspiration you can look at theknot.com. Also think about if you want to do a love-shoot; you can use these pictures for invites and save-the-date cards.
I hope the above guidelines and tips will help you with organizing your perfect wedding. Next blog more tips and guidelines what is next in your adventure of organizing the big day.
