Welcome back to my Indonesian snack and dessert blog! This time I will not talk about snack or dessert recipe but I will share with you about the best Indonesian restaurants in the Netherlands. A lot of Indonesian cuisine in the Netherlands so, if you miss Indonesian food you don’t have to be worry because you can find any where while you are in Holland. While I’m studying here, I like to try new food with my twin or my friends because in the Netherlands they have many kind of cuisines such as Greek food, Suriname food and many more. But if I see Indonesian restaurant in the street, I immediately go to their menu and see what kind of food they have. So here are my recommended Indonesian restaurants in the Netherlands:
Based in Amsterdam. The place is really small but it’s worth it! If you want to go there, you should go earlier before lunch or dinner time because it’s always full. I highly recommended to try their nasi goreng pete (fried rice with sator bean) and don’t forget the kerupuk! It’s the best combination to eat nasi goreng with kerupuk. It’s so Indonesian. They don’t have it in their menu but you can ask them to make it for you. Everything in their menu is good, I already try all of them. The atmosphere feels like a little slice of Jakarta. Highly recommended!
They are based in Amstel. Desa in Indonesia means village. They are popular with rijsttafel or rice
table. They have many options for rijsttafel such as rijsstafel Desa, rijsstafel vegetarian, and so on. I’ve never been to this restaurant but I’ve tried the rendang and sate ayam, it tasted really good same as the real one! If you miss Indonesian food, this restaurant is highly recommended for rice table! It’s better to reserve first especially in the weekend. You can reserve here.
This restaurant based in the Hague. I’ve been to Si Des and for me their food is heaven!! I like the place, the service, as well as the taste of the food! if you are planning to eat at Si Des, try their street drinks!! My favorite is es shangai! If you coffee lovers try their ice coffee! Moreover, they have many
ice cream flavors! They have durian, mango and so on. You should try durian ice cream! In Indonesian durian ice cream is very popular! If you want to see their whole menu, click here! Or if you want to reserve click here!
That’s all from me! I hope this can help your homesick or if you want to try Indonesian food. Next blog I will share another exiting recipe from Jakarta Food Festival.
